Shopify Shippit integration

We build clean, reliable connections between Shopify and Shippit, so orders flow to the right carrier, labels print, and tracking lands back in Shopify without anyone re-keying a thing.

Where Shopify and Shippit drift apart

Shippit is built to allocate the right carrier, print labels and manage the delivery experience. It only does that well if every order reaches it correctly and tracking makes it back to Shopify. Without a clean integration, that gap becomes manual work.

01

Re-keying and CSV wrangling

Someone copies orders into Shippit or juggles exports. It is slow, and it is exactly where wrong addresses and missed parcels creep in.

02

Tracking that never returns

Labels get created in Shippit, but tracking numbers and fulfilment status don't reliably write back to Shopify. Customers chase "where is my order?" and support drowns.

03

Carrier rules in someone's head

Manual carrier choice means inconsistent service and cost. Shippit's allocation only helps when every order arrives with the right weight, dimensions and service level.

04

Edge cases the native app skips

Split shipments, multiple warehouses, B2B orders, an ERP in the middle or a 3PL handoff quietly fall over on the happy-path connector.

What syncs, and which way

The default data flow. We confirm the exact fields, directions and triggers with you in discovery.

What the integration actually does

One connection, scoped to how you ship, the data that moves, the way it moves, and what keeps it dependable.

What syncs

  • Orders, line items, quantities and SKUs
  • Delivery address, contact and delivery instructions
  • Parcel weight, dimensions and package count
  • Chosen service level, standard, express, same-day
  • Tracking number and tracking URL back to Shopify
  • Fulfilment status and shipment events

How it works

  • Shopify is system of record for orders; Shippit owns carrier and label
  • Order paid or tagged triggers a push to Shippit
  • Near real-time via webhooks, or scheduled batch at high volume
  • Tracking and fulfilment written back to the Shopify order
  • Allocation rules for warehouse, service level and carrier

Reliability

  • Every API call logged with a replayable audit trail
  • Automatic retries with backoff when Shippit or a carrier is slow
  • Alerting on address failures, quote errors and stuck orders
  • Idempotent writes, so nothing double-ships or double-fulfils
  • Monitoring dashboard and a clear runbook for support

How we build it

A tight path from mapping your order lifecycle to a monitored, supported integration in production.

01

Discovery

We map your order lifecycle, warehouses, carriers and the edge cases the native app misses.

02

Data-flow design

We agree exactly what syncs, which way, on what trigger, and who owns each field.

03

Build

We build against Shippit's API in a staging store, native app config, middleware or a custom app, whichever fits.

04

UAT

You test real orders end to end: allocation, labels, manifests, tracking write-back and the edge cases.

05

Deploy

We cut over with a rollback plan and monitoring switched on, so there's no gap in fulfilment.

06

Monitor & support

We watch logs, retries and alerts, and stay on to tune allocation rules as volume grows.

Shopify + Shippit integration FAQs

Shippit's native Shopify app covers standard single-warehouse flows well. You need custom work when you have multiple locations, split shipments, B2B orders, an ERP or 3PL in the middle, or bespoke carrier and service rules.
Both are possible. We default to near real-time via webhooks, so orders reach Shippit and tracking returns within seconds. For very high volume we can batch on a schedule to stay inside API limits.
Typically two-way, orders push to Shippit, and tracking plus fulfilment status write back to Shopify. We scope the exact fields and directions with you so nothing is ambiguous.
If the flow needs custom logic, we host it as a small, monitored service or a private Shopify app, or deploy it into your cloud. Either way you get the logs, alerts and a runbook.
Nothing double-ships and nothing is lost. Calls are idempotent, failed jobs retry with backoff, and anything still stuck raises an alert with a one-click replay.
Yes. We wire your allocation rules, service level, origin warehouse, weight and destination, so each order books with the right carrier automatically.
